After 30 years, most bands undergo too many changes and crumble.  Not true for Southern favorites The Locust
Fork Band. The band plays music ranging from western swing to country and rock-n-roll.  They have long been
known for their high powered guitar jams.  With a legion of fans that date back to the band's early days in
Tuscaloosa and an ever-increasing base of new fans, The Locust Fork Band is still going strong.

30th Year Reunion Concert
Workplay Theater August 6, 2004

The band played to a sell out crowd at Workplay at this special event .  They played many of the favorites from their
albums "Overnight Success" and "Playin' Possum".  Hi-lites of the show included a rendition of The Allman Brothers
standard "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" an unbelievable show closing version of Marshall Tucker's "Ramblin'"

Locust Fork Band members Bill Marshall, Dwight Williams and Rick Byrd also have joined up with other members of
the long time Montgomery  group "The Gate Band" for some great evenings of entertainment.  Brings back a lot of
memories for all us old "Pavilion" alumni.  Check out the photo gallery for a picture of a recent performance at
Workplay.

Fletcher's
Birmingham AL
May 5, 2006

Another great evening of LFB doing what they do best.  The crowd was great and all were
enjoying the festive atmoshphere of "Cinco De Mayo".  Fletcher's reminds me a lot of The
Pavilion in Montgomery.

Many of the LFB standards were on the playlist but we did notice a few new songs such as
"Tupelo Honey" (Van Morrison), "Who do You Love" (Bo Diddley/George Thoroughgood), and
" I Just Want to Make Love to You" (Foghat). The band opened the night with a great version
of "I Know You Rider" (Grateful Dead).  One of my all time favorite songs.

The band was thrilled to have Andrew Brown join them  again on stage to do "The Weight".
Andrew was celebrating his birthday Friday night and what a performance he did.  He got a
standing ovation and it was well deserved.  As DW stated when Andrew finished, "We're going
on break, because how do you follow that?".

Well, they followed it up after break with a great version of "24 Hours at a Time" (Marshall
Tucker) and "One Way Out" (Allman Brothers).  The crowd was really into those two songs. The
evening ended with "All Along the Watchtower" (Bob Dylan/Jimi Hendrix). Another great LFB
Performance.

American Legion Post 199
On the beach
Fairhope, AL
April 2, 2006

Fairhope!  What a party!!!

The band played to an enthusiastic
and large crowd at the re-christening
of the beach pavilion which was
damaged during recent storms.

Everyone had a terrific time.  The band
did all their standards ending the show
with what may have been the best
performance of "Whipping Post" ever
and then a classic rendition of "Purple
Haze".

Nida found a new dance partner and
the guest guitar player on Purple Haze
was amazing.

And the tributes to our friend Bryan
Wheeler were amazing.

It was a perfect setting.  LFB playing in
front of you and the beach 100 yards
behind you.

I think I speak for everyone in the band
when I say it just couldn't have been
any better!!

I don't think it would take much to get
the band to play there again.

Check out the "Photogallery 2" tab
above for pics. And to those in the
crowd who took pics, please send them
to us.  We'll add them to the gallery

Thanks to everyone at American
Legion Post 199!

Workplay Theater
Birmingham AL
June 25, 2005

The Locust fork Band once again
played to a near sell out crowd at
Workplay.

The band's annual performance there
is becoming an event that we all look
forward to and this year was no
exception.

We don't have the complete set list
finalized as yet but will get it out here
when we do.

However, there was a very special
moment that needs to be noted.  A
young man by the name of Andrew
Brown joined the band on stage to
perform "The Weight" by The Band.
LFB always does this song but tonight
they turned the vocals over to Andrew.
He performed the song flawlessly and
left the stage to a standing ovation by
the audience.  If you were in
attendance you know there weren't
many dry eyes in the house went he
left.  We hope to have pictures and/or
a video clip of this amazing
performance in the very near future.

We were also glad to see Doug Lee
join the band on stage for background
vocals on several songs.

Here is a list of  a few of the songs
from the night we do recall (in no
particular order):

Ramblin'
Statesboro Blues
Danny's All Star Joint
Morning Sky
This Ole Cowboy
Whipping Post
Long Streak of that Bad Luck
Sweet Dreams
Calico and Curls
Could It Happen Again
My Alabama Home (first live
performance in many years)
One Way Out
All Along the Watchtower
I know You Rider
She Thinks I Still Care
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
Overnight Success

Phillips Fest
Alabama Theater
March 10, 2005

What a night at the Alabama Theater!

The set list included:

Morning Sky (Dan Fogleberg)
The Weight (The Band)
Statesboro Blues (The Allman Brother Band)
Sweet Dreams (Patsy Cline)
Ramblin' (Marshall Tucker)

The harmonies on Morning Sky  were vintage
LFB.

The Weight is another classic performed by LFB
and according to Dwight was the first song LFB
ever performed live.

Satesboro Blues by ABB is one of the great
blues/rock songs of all times and featured Kent
Petersen's blazing slide guitar.

Sweet Dreams by Patsy Cline is just a classic
and Nida's vocals on this song always blow us
away.

And Ramblin'.  What can I say?  This song from
The Marshall Tucker Band's first album is my
favorite LFB tune when the band performs live.

As usual though, it left all us "Fork Heads"
wanting more.  Five songs by LFB just wasn't
enough.

Later in the show Kent joined forces with
Telluride for a fantastic version of the Allman
Bros classic "Jessica".

And finally, the whole band joined on stage for a
classic jam session with all the other performer's
for a memorable version of "There's A Train
Coming" in which March Phillips came out and
played keyboards.

Check out
www.rickandbubba.com for some
great show pictures of all the performers.

Another project of LFB members Dwight
Williams and Bill Marshall is The Five O'Clock
Band.

The band held a CD release party at Workplay

The Five O'Clock Band

Sinclair's on Lake Martin
Alex City, AL
May 20, 2006

Well I just never thought there could be a better setting for an LFB performance than in Fairhope, but Sinclair's is
once again the perfect setting.  Sitting up on the deck at Sinclair's looking out at beautiful Lake Martin and listening
to LFB, it just doesn't get any better.  The food at Sinclair's is great, I highly recommend the Grouper Bites and
cheeseburgers. Johnny Sullivan has done another great job with the restaurant.

The band was at it's best once again. As I told Bill, I just am always amazed that the band just keeps getting better
and better. I've heard the guys play three times in the last few weeks and take it from me, they are absolutely better
than they have ever been.  I'm pretty prejudiced but there just aren't many bands that show noticeable improvement
every time they play.  After all these years, the band could easily just "mail in" the shows but not the case with LFB.

The usual fair of LFB favorites was offered up but performances of "Overnite Success", "Ramblin'",  "Tupelo
Honey", "Ohio". "Morning Sky" and "One Way Out" really stood out as show stoppers. Kent's song's "Calico & Curls"
was great to hear again. And thanks to a technical glitch with Kent's microphone, we were treated to an extended
version of "Could It Happen Again".  That was perfectly fine with me.  The show closed out with "All Along the
Watchtower" and "Whipping Post".

B&A Warehouse
Birmingham AL
August 17, 2006

Another great time with LFB.  B&A Warehouse is an awesome place.  If this evening was any indication, the new
Thursday evening Socials are going to be a huge success.  Doors opened at 6pm.  The buffet was great and the
music was even better. Check out the link to B&A's website.  Other Thursday Socials dates and bands are listed on
"Concert Dates" Page

It was great to see all the normal members of the "Old Patrol" aka "Forkheads but it would have been hard to miss
all the younger faces in the crowd.  Sure is good to see LFB drawing a legion of new fans.

All of the LFB standards were offered up.  One of my all time favorites Marshall Tucker Band's "24 Hours at a Time"
was simply amazing.  Bill & Kent just wailed on that song.  ABB's"One Way" also almost brought down the house.
"Tupelo Honey" blows me away every time as does "I know You Rider".

Guest musician Doug Lee dropped in for a couple of great country songs.

Be sure to check out the "Photgallery 3" page for pics from the evening.
